BEGINNINGS
At Akarregi Txiki, everything comes from the land… and from family. Our history is intertwined with that of the Akarregi Txiki and Lasalde farmhouses, two families who have always been united, working together, sharing tasks and dreams.
Así empezamos: cuidando el ganado y elaborando txakoli como lo hacían nuestros antecesores, con respeto y dedicación.
This is how we began: tending the livestock and producing txakoli just as our ancestors did, with respect and dedication.
The turning point came in 1989 with the creation of the Getariako Txakolina Designation of Origin. In 1996 we decided to take a further step and establish a small family winery.
Leandro and Mikel de Lasalde, together with Joxemanuel and Lurdes from Akarregi Txiki, joined forces with a common goal: to produce a quality txakoli without losing our roots.
Txakoli has evolved greatly since then. Whereas it used to be a more acidic drink, today it is smoother and more balanced. We have the support of a professional oenologist, and our facilities have been modernized with stainless-steel tanks that allow us to better control the temperature and ensure optimal hygiene. All of this has contributed to a remarkable improvement in the quality of our product.
Our winery is the result of a family project that has grown through effort and dedication. We were not born as an investment, but as a natural continuation of the work of the generations before us. Today, the third generation—represented by Lander and Iker—takes over and continues the family legacy.
We have recently acquired a new plot, and next year we plan to plant another vineyard. As always, we will do it step by step, with the same philosophy of closeness, authenticity, and commitment to our land that has guided us since the very first day.
